Terry Hawes

Currently Managing Director of Copeland 200 Ltd. Terry is a specialist in Leadership, change management, organisational development, Client relationship management and interpersonal skills. His list of clients includes major financial Institutes around the world.

In 1995 Terry set up Copeland Consultancy, an organisation specialising in change, management development and organisational learning serving the financial sector. He has worked with an impressive list of clients both in the UK and abroad dealing with multi-national cultures. He has worked with individual companies providing advice on organisational change and has undertaken both sector and individual organisations reviews of current development activity. In his role , he has undertaken a number of large training and development contracts covering a wide range of expertise worldwide.

He began his working career in banking in 1972 with the Midland Bank. He undertook his first managerial role in the late 1970s having qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. He went on to manage a number of Retail outlets and also undertook a number of Head-Office roles in Lending (Personal and Corporate), Marketing, Operations and Personnel.

In 1987 he was asked to head up a group of training consultants who were to spear-head a performance improvement campaign throughout the U.K. During this time Terry took on the responsibility for the development of clerical staff who had potential for a future managerial role together with the development and delivery of a fast-track graduate development programme.

Following the success of these programmes Terry headed both management development and the management skills areas for the Bank from 1987 -1992.
After a brief spell working as a senior project manager Terry was appointed Senior Training Manager (Midland/HSBC Group) with responsibility for a team of internal Change Consultants and designed and delivered major programmes to support the restructuring of the Bank.

He was elected as a Fellow of the CIB in 1994 for his work in the training and education in the financial industry.

Terrys Master of Science degree was attained in Training and Organisational Development.
