Graham Bull

Graham spent twenty five years in the banking industry, nineteen of which were devoted to the International Trade Finance and Correspondent Banking sectors. In total he worked for four banks (English, German, American and Arab), and in addition spent some time on the commercial side managing the Countertrade Dept for a tobacco trader.

The bulk of his banking career was spent with Bankers Trust Co, as a Vice President in the Trade Banking Division, where he conducted business throughout the Europe, Middle East and African regions. He specialised in practical problem solving for major corporates/commodity traders, and carries those skills into his present day training/consultancy work.

For five years up to 1998 Graham worked for BPP Training & Consultancy as the Managing Consultant in charge of International Trade courses. Whilst running the trade team, he concentrated on delivering tailored programmes to a variety of major Western European banks and corporate entities. Courses included: Financing of International Trade, Documentary Credits Workshops, Correspondent Banking, Facility Structuring, Commodity Finance and Countertrade Techniques.

In October 1998 he left BPP to become founder and Managing Partner of Gransden Training & Consultancy, where he controls a small team of training professionals dedicated to the delivery of top quality Trade Finance courses.

In all Graham has provided training courses in over 30 countries, and has also undertaken a variety of consultancy roles, including:

    • Assisting the Liquidators in the closure of the Trade Finance portfolio of Bank of Credit & Commerce International (BCCI).
    • Analysis and restructuring of the Foreign Trade Dept for National Bank of Commerce, Tanzania.
